The balm moisturizes, but its consistency is quite hard. Spreading it on the lips sometimes causes lumps to form and a rather unpleasant film for me, a bit like butter. The effect itself is ok, only the structure is bothersome, but it is possible that for someone such a thick and solid consistency will be just right.
